Ormhaug has a PhD in Psychology (2016) from the University of Oslo, as part of the Norwegian RCT study of TF-CBT.<\/span><\/p>\n
Ormhaug’s core competences include child trauma, PTSD, RCTs, and psychotherapy research. She has been research leader and head of the section for implementation and treatment studies at NKVTS, where she had overall responsibility for three large implementation and treatment studies involving national and international collaborating institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n
Ormhaug directs several research projects, including the Norwegian Stepped Care TF-CBT RCT study, and <\/span>the project “Investigating the evidence base of treatments for persons exposed to, and perpetrators of, violence”<\/span>. As part of these and other projects she collaborates closely with key institutions in the field such at <\/span>The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) and with leading experts in the US.<\/span><\/p>\n
Ormhaug also works closely with Norwegian health services, and is consulted as an expert by health authorities. She was member of the Directorate of Health’s expert panel on violence and trauma in their work with developing national patient pathways for psychic health (2017-18). <\/span><\/p>\n
She also has key roles in organizing major national and international scientific events. Examples include <\/span>head of the scientific committee for the 2018 Norwegian TF-CBT conference with 200 participants and the 2022 and 2023 conferences for evidence based trauma treatment with 300-350 participants.<\/span><\/p>\n
