I subsequently completed a master&rsquo;s degree in epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the UK and a DrPhilos at the medical faculty at the University of Oslo, Norway, focusing on refugee mental health. Before going into research, I worked as a child- and adolescent psychiatrist at Oslo University Hospital, Norway. I have been employed at NKVTS since 2011, part- or full-time, and I also have a part-time position as a statistician at the Red Cross University College, Stockholm, Sweden.<\/p>\n<p><b>Academic interest: <\/b>refugee health\/mental health (e.g. burden of disease; risk- and protective factors); health and integration in refugees; global (mental) health; psychotraumatology; PTSD; &nbsp;epidemiology\/ epidemiological methods (e.g. study design and statistics, pre-registration\/hypothesis generating vs. testing research)<\/p>\n<p><b>Activities: &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&ndash; researcher in the REFUGE-project, which explores (mental) health and integration in adults refugees from Syria who arrived in Norway between 2015 and 2017<\/p>\n<p>&ndash; researcher in the study: &ldquo;Should we talk about mental health?
