The incidence of violence, assault and other negative life events in the population of Oslo and Hordaland. The connection between exposure and various sociodemographic, economic and lifestyle factors. The connection between having been exposed to violence and the risk of health problems.

The project consists of a review of relevant data from the regional health surveys. Relevant data are retrieved from the Hordaland Health Study (HUSK) and Oslo Health Study (HUBRO).

The project is a part of a larger epidemiological programme in collaboration with the Norwegian Institute of Public Health.

In the analysis of the data material, particular focus is on the connection between violence, other negative life events and physical and psychological health and illnesses.
