Method

Quantitative analysis of the NIPH surveys on adolescents.

Further information

In collaboration with the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH), the Norwegian Centre for Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies (NKVTS) has analysed data from the NIPH surveys on adolescents conducted in Oslo, Hedmark, Oppland, Nordland, Troms and Finnmark counties. During the period 2000-2004, 15,930 15-16 year-olds participated in these surveys. The focus of the study was on self-reported exposure to violence and sexual assault during the preceding year.

Further studies of the Oslo adolescents in the material were conducted in 2009. In cooperation with NOVA (Norwegian Institute for Research on Youth, Welfare and Aging), a new report has been prepared on children and adolescents exposed to violence in Oslo that focuses on the preventive areas of commitment. The report will be available at www.nova.no og www.nkvts.noas of February 2010.
