Help and treatment for individuals with violence and aggression problems: a national assessment of available assistance.
Jonassen, W., & Paulsen, M. (2007). Hjelp og behandling til personer med volds- og aggresjonsproblemer: en nasjonal kartlegging av tilbud [Help and treatment for individuals with violence and aggression problems: a national assessment of available assistance.] Norwegian only.
This assessment showed that most of the services available for adults are provided by the Norwegian correctional service, while the assistance available for children are provided by child protection services.
Most of the services are in the form of impact programs. The rest are in the form of professional therapy. “Open programs” for the public are generally operated by different organizations such as Alternative to Violence (ATV), Norwegian family counseling services and some psychiatric outpatient clinics.
The Norwegian Directorate and Ministry of Justice and Public Security of Health assigned NKVTS the task of conducting the assessment.
