Main objective
This project studies the ways in which assistance services and close relatives face and deal with violent extremism and the radicalization process. By examining how concern in connection to the radicalization process and extremism arises and is managed, we wish to gain insight as to which role close relatives play in the prevention of radicalization and how assistance services and their procedures can best assist close relative in handling this type of situation. We would also like to investigate how the government, represented by the police comprehends the challenges they face and how they try to find solutions in collaboration with the other assistance services. Furthermore, we wish to shed light on what type of interactions, relations and cooperation take place between close relatives and police/other assistance services and in what way these conditions impact the prevention of violent extremism.
