Augusti has a PhD in Psychology (2012) from the University of Oslo, where she has also held a postdoc position.

Augusti is an expert on child maltreatment experiences in childhood. She has published widely in top-tier journals on topics related to children’s memory and cognitions after child abuse, developmental
psychopathology, processes of disclosure and help-seeking behaviors in abused children and adolescents, and decision making in the child protective services.

Augusti has also developed several research projects, including the “UEVO-study”, a longitudinal nationally representative study of child
maltreatment in 12-15 year-olds in Norway which she co-coordinates.

Augusti is widely consulted as expert advisor for governmental and judicial agencies, as well as civil society organisations, delivering official reports. She was member of the Covid-19 crisis advisory group at NKVTS (2020) and member of the evaluation group for the Norwegian Expert Commission on Children (2015). She is also widely used by Norwegian broadcasters and newspapers as an expert. Augusti is frequently invited to present at the major international conferences in her fields of
expertise, and she does review work for both leading academic journals and academic appointment committees. She has wide teaching experience as lecturer and course coordinator at the University
of Oslo, in particular on developmental psychology.
